Adamson Focuses on Resilience in Bedford’s Latest Performance
Bedford Blues winger Dean Adamson attributes becoming the all-time leading try scorer in the Championship to resilience and determination.
At 31, Adamson has scored 106 tries in 147 Championship appearances, breaking the record with a brace in a 34-18 home victory against Doncaster in October.
He first picked up a rugby ball at the age of five, joined the Blues Academy at 17, and made his senior debut five years later.
Throughout his career, Adamson has also had short stints at Rouen in France and Ampthill, but he has spent a decade playing for the Blues at Goldington Road.
"The record means a lot to me; no one can take it away," he told BBC Look East.
"I play alongside amazing players, and we have a great style of rugby. We love to throw the ball around, and as wingers, we get the chance to score tries."
He added, "I remember walking through the gates here for the first time as a teenager."
"The support from the crowd is incredible. It's such a special place. This league is fantastic, though often undervalued."
"For me, there’s nothing better than singing with my teammates and enjoying a beer in the changing room after a win."
Adamson trains three times a week with the Blues, a semi-professional team in the second-tier Championship, which has been running since 1987.
He balances rugby with a career in property management and admits there have been tough times throughout his playing career.
"People only see the tries, but they don’t see the tough moments," he said.
"When you have a bad game, it can linger. You start rewatching the tapes, but you have to trust yourself, stay focused, and keep going."
"You need willpower and resilience to push through."

Halle Berry Accuses Ex Olivier Martinez of Plotting Against Her with Nanny
Hollywood actress Halle Berry has made new allegations against her ex-husband, Olivier Martinez, claiming that he conspired with her longtime nanny to fabricate false reports about her.
According to a report by In Touch, Halle has accused Olivier of using "smoke and mirrors" to divert attention from his own actions. Currently, she is embroiled in a custody battle with him. The two were married in 2013.
Court documents obtained by In Touch reveal that Halle, 58, has opposed Olivier’s request for text messages exchanged between her and her former employee, Miryam Haziza, from January onward, as well as any non-disclosure agreements signed by Miryam.
In the filing, Halle also stated that Olivier, 58, has requested the release of non-disclosure agreements signed by another former employee, Erica Simamora. Halle claims that Olivier conspired with both Haziza and Simamora to make false accusations against her.
