State Honors Wayne County Community Schools for Mental Health Initiatives

Wayne County Community Schools has been honored with the 2025 “What’s Great in Our State” Community/Organization Award in recognition of its work to expand mental health support throughout schools in the rural Finger Lakes region.
Representatives from the nonprofit accepted the award on Tuesday at a ceremony in Albany, where New York State officials commended their efforts to make schools safe, supportive, and empowering environments for students.
“Wayne County Community Schools exemplifies ‘What’s Great in Our State’ by enhancing mental health services for youth in a rural area where such support has traditionally been scarce,” said Dr. Ann Sullivan, Commissioner of the New York State Office of Mental Health. She praised the organization’s “innovation, resilience, and compassion” in helping to create a brighter future for children, youth, and families.

Top Health Official Pushes to Eliminate Misinformation in U.S. Healthcare

Dr. Eric Topol’s latest book explores the most reliable, science-backed strategies for extending longevity, while pushing back against the “malarkey” of biohacking, age-reversal fads, and anti-science rhetoric—trends that have gained momentum in the U.S. amid a rise in distrust toward science following the Covid pandemic.
“This book aims to set the record straight, eliminate pseudoscience, and offer a highly optimistic view of how well-positioned we are to prevent the three major age-related diseases that limit our health span,” said Topol, a practicing cardiologist and the founder of the Scripps Research Translational Institute, in an interview with The Guardian.
Published Tuesday by Simon & Schuster, the book is titled Super Agers: An Evidence-Based Approach to Longevity.

Leonardo DiCaprio Quietly Crashes the Met Gala for the First Time

Leonardo DiCaprio may have been prepared for his first Met Gala appearance, but he wasn’t quite ready for the spotlight on the blue carpet.
The Titanic star arrived at Monday’s glamorous New York City event alongside his girlfriend, 26-year-old Italian model Vittoria Ceretti. It appeared DiCaprio, 50, was attending as Ceretti’s guest, as she walked the blue carpet solo and confidently posed for the cameras.
Ceretti turned heads in a pinstriped Moncler minidress, revealed after she removed a dramatic puffy hood. DiCaprio, staying true to his signature style, kept things timeless in a classic tuxedo.
