Expansion in Rural Care: 100 New Residential Places for Remote Communities

The Albanese Government is enhancing support for older people in rural and remote areas by increasing the number of residential care places. Starting today, Multi-Purpose Service (MPS) program providers can apply to either expand existing facilities or establish new ones. This initiative, a collaboration between the Albanese Government and state and territory governments, aims to offer integrated health and aged care services in regions where separate facilities are not feasible. Up to 100 additional residential care places are now available through a competitive application process managed by the Department of Health and Aged Care.
