Shifting Focus: Evolving ESG Strategies for a More Resilient Future
The impending return of President-elect Donald Trump to the White House, along with conservative majorities in the House, Senate, and Supreme Court, leaves the future of many aspects of ESG progress uncertain. Is ESG truly dead, or is it simply evolving? Can innovation and economic growth be pursued while still protecting the planet?
These overarching questions raise several critical issues. Did the push for reporting and transparency advance or hinder the pursuit of more sustainable, responsible, and resilient business practices? How can a comprehensive approach be developed to address broader material risks and ensure the long-term resilience and sustainability of business operations?
Engage with a diverse range of ESG stakeholders beyond your immediate peers.

Can the Brutal Killing of a CEO Spark Change in US Health Reform?
Rage, frustration, and bitterness were evident in social media reactions following the fatal shooting of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.
Although Thompson was brazenly murdered in midtown Manhattan just before the company’s annual investor conference, leaving behind a widow and two sons, many Americans found it difficult to feel sympathy for a man they saw as responsible for denying or delaying what they believed to be necessary care. This sentiment is one that prominent policy expert Ezekiel Emanuel understands.
“Dissatisfaction with the system—this sense that it's broken—is at an all-time high,” said Emanuel, a key architect of the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) and a professor of health policy at the University of Pennsylvania’s Perelman School of Medicine. “Everyone hates the system now more than when we passed the Affordable Care Act.”
Police revealed that the suspect arrested this week, 26-year-old Luigi Mangione, was also carrying a “handwritten three-page document” expressing “ill-will toward corporate America,” with mentions of healthcare included.
Science Links Mitochondria & Muscle Strength
As we age, our muscles naturally lose mass, strength, and functionality, which can lead to fatigue and weakness beginning as early as our 30s. Recent studies indicate that our mitochondria—the cellular powerhouses that generate 90% of our energy—play a crucial role in this decline, contributing to reduced muscle function as we age.
A new way to support and improve muscle health as we age, Mitopure® by Timeline is clinically shown to meaningfully boost our mitochondrial health to improve muscle strength and endurance, without any change in exercise required.

Sony's Marvel Universe Faces Its Final Act for Now with 'Kraven'
The lights were on, but no one showed up. At Brazil’s renowned Comic Con Experience (CCXP) on Sunday, Sony Pictures' surprise panel for Kraven the Hunter—the studio’s latest non-Spider-Man Marvel movie—was met with rows of empty seats, according to an attendee. There were no celebrities and only a few fans, leaving silence where superhero excitement should have been.
The half-empty panel for the $110 million antihero film at one of the world’s largest pop culture events highlights the declining prominence of Sony's Marvel franchise outside of the mainline Spider-Man films starring Tom Holland. While Venom: The Last Dance launched in October on over 4,000 screens, Kraven the Hunter will debut this Friday on just 3,000—a 25% drop that reflects decreasing confidence in Sony's struggling Marvel experiment.
