From Resilient to Struggling: My Journey and What Changed
Source: The New York Times
I've observed that my resilience has waned with age. While insults once rolled off my back and moving to a new city was effortless, now I dwell on social media slights for days and fret over minor changes like a new hairstyle. It's a flaw I’m determined to help my young son avoid by introducing him to challenges that build his ability to handle adversity. Yet, I realize it's somewhat hypocritical—focusing on teaching resilience to him while struggling with my own. Parents' Health Plan vs. Employer Insurance: What’s the Best Option for You?
Source: Consumer Coverage’s
Young workers starting their first full-time jobs now face a choice that was less common in the past: whether to use their employer’s health insurance or remain on their parents’ plan. Thanks to the Affordable Care Act, young adults can stay on their parents’ policy until age 26, regardless of their employment status, marital status, or living situation. Deciding whether to stick with a familiar plan or switch to a new employer's coverage can be complex and frustrating. Dan Weissman, host of the podcast An Arm and a Leg, notes that evaluating insurance options is often tedious. Martha Sanchez from Young Invincibles suggests that for those early in their careers and possibly changing jobs frequently, staying on a known plan might be simpler than navigating new employer offerings.
